Day 31

The power finally came on at 6:00 last night, just in time to heat up dinner and warm the cabin.

AT 6:30 this morning we left A.C. and have been underway for an 11/2 hours.  It's a mere  47ยบ clear and sunny๐ŸŒž Winds coming off the shore WNW 9 - 13 mph. Not ideal but good enough, as it is choppy with swells 3-4 feet.   There are quit a few other boats exiting today too.  Stella is not quite  use to this sudden chilly weather, she is shivering; have her wrapped up in a blanket, snuggled up next to me.๐Ÿถ

We hope to make it to Sandy Hook NJ before night fall!  90 miles!   On the way down we had to stay in SH (not Salthill) at Atlantic Highlands Marina for a week due to weather, of course.  It's where we could walk into town and  do laundry and also where we saw Bohemian Rhapsody in their little movie theater  Great movie!!
Had a great time there but hoping the weather cooperates so we don't have to stay there but one night!!๐Ÿ™

At 11:30 we have slowed down to do some trolling๐ŸŽฃ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿ  We are making great time and thinking we will be at our destination by 4.
Even though it is chilly, the sun is shining and the ocean is calmer than before.   I'm at the helm today,  Kenny is fishing; adding lines and setting bait.
Gorgeous day, as my late brother ๐Ÿ˜ขwould say: "It's a crispy cod day" Not sure where that expression came from.

As mentioned earlier, we have eaten a lot of fish on this journey and most recently we bought wild caught  frozen fish at the Farmer's Market in St. Augustine; Mahi, Large Pink Shrimp, Flounder and Parrot Fish.  The Pink shrimp were quite different than regular ones, very tasty and meaty. The Parrot fish(had never heard of) was good too!
๐ŸŸMahi tonight unless we catch something better today๐Ÿ‹

At 4:45 we can see the NYC skyline in the distance. In about an hour we will be tucked in Atlantic Highland Municipal Marina, Sandy Hook, NJ.  For the last fews hours we have had following seas but very rolly polly๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒŠ
Great travel day though, just ready to get there already๐Ÿ˜„

At 7:00 we arrived, docked, walked Stella, making dinner, Mahi, cause we didn't catch a thing. We are both exhausted after 12 hours on the water.
Oh, and it's fairly warm here! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Tomorrow we are jumping on the Long Island Sound after we fuel up.
Until then, goodnight ๐Ÿ’ค๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Ž
