Day 17

Happy May Day!🌹🌸🌷🌺
This day was always celebrated at my high school in NC with MayPole dances and all kinds of festivities.πŸ’ƒ

Today is Wednesday, the 1st and we were woken early by large waves rocking us. Fishermen start their day very early, in the dark.
So we up and left, in the dark.
It is now 9:30 and we have been traveling for 4 hours, making lots of headway home. Staying mostly on the ICW until Jersey then we have to travel in the ocean.
By the way it is hot and steamy with mosquitoes, biting flies and such everywhere on the boat πŸ›πŸπŸœ  Ironicly,  the area we were just  in  called Coole Breeze something???πŸ˜‚

High today is 88ΒΊ, mostly sunny, winds SW 8 mph. We want to be at  marina in Coin Jock, NC. tomorrow.  Have been hearing a lot about it, including their to-die-for prime rib restaurant.  Love being on the hook⚓ every night, but  when we do stay at a marina, we like to find one with lots of amenities.  Laundry, restaurant, fuel, ice, groceries etc.

4:40 We are now anchored at the entrance of the Alligator Pungo Canal.
Traveled about 10 hrs, 80 miles. The weather continued to be hot and buggy but soon changed to beautiful and breezy for the last portion of the day. πŸ™

Kenny flagged down another crabber this AM and bought 2 dozen more crabs. $20 for 24 this time.. Great deal. He already steamed them while we were underway on propane burner, outside in the stern. Lat night we picked the dozen for crab cakes tonight.
A lot more picking tonight, I guessπŸ¦€πŸ¦€πŸ¦€πŸ¦€πŸ¦€πŸ¦€πŸ¦€πŸ¦€πŸ¦€πŸ¦€πŸ¦€

Fresh caught

Steamed, red, deadπŸ˜–

The Alligator Pungo canal was what we wanted to avoid but it looks like we have no choice in the matter. Just have to stay on that magenta line and hope for the best; already experienced the worst last timeπŸ™ˆ

Along the way we have been seeing very comical boat names, such as Bow Movement, Grateful Head, and here's a few more:
Might have to enlarge to read!
