Day 39

6:00 AM and we are off for our final leg of this incredible adventure. It's a chilly morning, of course, 53º with wind 5-6 mph SW!!!!!  Finally, following seas!  🛥🌬 There is a small craft warning for this afternoon here in Mass. Overcast with 20% chance of rain. Portland looks about the same with no wind and no warnings!  Yippee!

9:00 am and we are just leaving Rye, NH Dock for fuel. This was a navigational challenge to say the least. The narrow gateway was surrounded by rock walls and chucker full of various sizes of mooring balls, and boats ⛴⛵🚣🚤. The dock itself  had a few large touring ships in place which left us little room for mobility.  Captain Ken maneuvered Serenity like a Pro; unfreaking believable!💝 I need a drink, lol 😬

We are back at it with 55 more miles to go.  The sun is out, the seas are calm and we are taking it all in. 🙏🙏

12:15 and we are so close.

We are the blue dot
The winds have picked up to 12 mph and the waves  are now 3-4' with an occasional  rogue 5 footer just to keep us on our toes!
We are making great time with the following seas coming off our starboard stern making us wiggle.

2:30 and we are home at our spot at Sunset Marina.

Portland LightHouse is always a welcome sight!

Thanks for Following Along!
Until next time...😍😎⚓

Day 38

I know this is redundant but we are still here in Newburyport.
🌞Sun all around,  breezy and chilly on the water, but not in town.

We walked all morning with Stella, downtown and along the harbor.  Very quaint and quite old with beautiful brick buildings edging the roads.

At 2:00 we are back on the boat where the wind and strong current wait for us, sun too!!

Just chilling for the afternoon and getting ready for our final exodus to Portland tomorrow. Bittersweet!🍫😏😎😍

Weather is looking good with following seas, from the south. duh

Tomorrow will be my final entry and to tell you the truth I'm going to miss this too. Journaling/blogging has been a very cathartic experience for me.

Talk to you tomorrow🙏😬

Tuesday, May 21, 2019

Day 37

Still stuck in Newburyport for at least  2 more days 🙈
We have been lucky with the weather so far, until we got here.
Currently 59º, mostly cloudy⛅, wind WNW 19 mph with gusts
 25🎏waves 5-7'🌊🌊🌬.
Doing quite a bit of rocking even though we are tied-up! The current here (Merrimack River) is very strong, making the water slap the sides of the boat constantly!

So, like yesterday we are working inside the boat, cleaning and fixing, gaming, fishing and reading. Can't seem to find WiFi so can't watch movies.
Leave it to Beaver, Hazel, Wagon Train, Matlock, My Three Sons. That's our line up😂early morning.📺

Probs walk into town later today, which is about 1/2 mile away.

At 8:00 we are making dinner, burgers and salad. Never walked into town as it was so blustery.  Walked Stella and she was almost blown off the dock; thank goodness I had her leashed.

Tomorrow doesn't look much better so our target day is Thursday.🤞
TTYT 😘

Day 36

The wind and waves are keeping us in Newburyport for a few days. We are so close, 8 hours away from Portland, yet we are socked in. 🙈 72º, 80% precipitation, wind 13/20 SW, not too bad, but the seas are too rough with 4 second waves! So we wait!

Not sure who reads this but would love to hear from you. 😻

Stay Tuned

Day 35

Last night we stayed up late, for us, 10:30, sitting on  a sailboat docked next to us with a young couple from New Orleans that just bought the sailboat in New Hampshire. They both quit their jobs and are sailing back down south, to the Keys and then back to New Orleans by August (before hurricane season)
We shared some knowledge about the trek and had a great time chatting with them. Fair winds and following seas to James and Victoria, keep us posted.😎

Today we are heading out early as there is some weather coming our way. Currently it's a chilly 54º,  winds S 10mph and increasing throughout the day. We have nothing but ocean ahead of us, so for now looks like following seas but not fair winds. No rain though.
7:00am we are underway.

It is now 12:30 and we are in some very rough seas!!! Winds are 14 knots coming off our port and rocking us side to side;  chop is 2-3 feet, swells 3-5'.  Very gloomy out and chilly. Welcome to New England!  Looks like the seas will calm down once we get past Glouster, another 4 miles.  Hoping to make Newburyport for the night

At 3:30 the sun came out as we pulled into Newburyport Marina, with Kevin and Eileen waiting for us and helping to tie up.
Thank goodness, cause it was a shit show with heavy currents and the wind against us.  Kev and Eileen are the folks we bought our first boat from, Kuleana Kai (not Kunta Kinte Paulie!)  😂
We love getting together and sharing boat stories.  Had a couple beers at the Marina and going to have dinner with them later.

All good in the hood as we get close to the end of this incredible journey!
Portland tomorrow!😂😢😎😢😍😢🙏

Day 34

We made so much progress the last couple days that we are taking it easy this AM. At 9:30, Kenny is walking Stella and I am making breakfast ☕🥚after I enter this!
It is sunny out here in Point Judith with not a cloud in the sky🌞 66º, 0% precipitation, wind 6 mph ENE. Not a big deal because we will be traveling up thru the Cap Code Canal, via Block Island Sound, Rhode Island Sound, Buzzards Bay. Sounds good,😂

A friend wanted to see pics of the inside of Serenity, so here are a few:

HOME

Head is small but with this panoramic shot it looks huge; toilet, sink, shower

TOPSIDE

It's now 11:00 and we are shoving off! Gettin fuel first⛽

This is the entrance to the CCC

We arrived at Sandwich🥪 HAHAHA Sandwich Mass. which is at the end of the Cape Cod Canal around 6.  Great day on the water!  This place is huge and pricey, had to walk a mile to their laundry room.
It's now 8:30 making dinner and folding laundry, then night,
Until tomorrow😚

Day 33

The Captain had me up at 6:30 this AM;  make hay while the sun shines!  It is 62º with a high in this area of 73º, partly cloudy, SW winds 3 mph.  Long Island Sound is calm and fairly quiet, nothing like yesterday.
This was my view this morn. Mill Neck NY

Captain Ken is topside at the helm, while Stella and I are having coffee and straightening up the cabin.  It's going to be a long day as we are hoping to make it to a Marina in Rhode Island.  We have a faulty switch on the generator 😡 so it is difficult to Anchor for the night;  possible though?

It is now 4:00 and we are still underway and are now in Block Island Sound, outside Fishers Island. It was warm out with a cool breeze as we were topside all morning while still in Long Is. Sd.    We were in a huge body of water with nothing around us, except an occasional boat going by.  Now in BIS we can see land off of our port side.

As we approached Fishers Island on our port, with limited visibility,  Captain noticed ahead of us, what looked like a sandbar, where breakers were folding over themselves.
In reality we were entering what's known as The Race.  The body of water off Fishers Is. goes from 30' to 300' causing the water to heave up beneath us violently, creating 5' swells in every single direction coming at us. Add to that a 4 knot tidal flow and you have a Coney Island rollercoaster ride!  🎢🎢🎢🎢🎢The elevation of the water literally rose up 2 feet in front of the boat! Kenny said he had NEVER experienced anything like it!

have to stop because I'm getting nauseous

At 7:00 we are docked at Point Judith Marina, Narragansett, RI.  Walked Stella, took a hot shower and getting ready to make dinner.
Need I say we are all pooped!
No more warm weather for a while, I'm afraid 😎

Thursday, May 16, 2019

Day 32

We set out early this AM on foot 👫 Walked into town and to a grocery store to stock up.  It is 11:00, we just fueled up and are now underway. Headed for the Long Island Sound to a Marina abut 5 hours for us to get to.
On our way out we went by this dude, never seen fishing done this way, looks like he is mowing. 😂
Found out that he is stirring up the bottom with a rake, then attracting bait fish, and at the same time he slaps the water to attract larger fish;  who knew!   This is what cartoons are based on; Man trying to outsmart fish!!!

It's a beautiful day in Sandy Hook NJ, 66º, clear, 🌞, winds N 2-3 mph. Perfecto!  Except we will not be out in the ocean today.

At 7:00 we are docked near Port Washington
What a travel day we had, OMG
We went thru New York Harbor, up the East River, thru the Hell Gate and into The Long Island Sound. Some amazing sights along the way:
Try to listen the bell ringing in this LightHouse→→

All the different architecture of buildings which are endless and all are unique. We traveled a different way than we did coming down.

Always amazed at suspension bridges and we went under quite a few. The arch bridge pictured here was gorgeous.  So many boats, ferries, barges etc. all around us, causing some rock and rolling; fun though.
🚁🚁🛩🛩🛬🛫🛥🛥⛴⛴⛴🚄🚅🚆Helicopters above, trains and trams above us too, planes jetting in all directions; we were both major over stimulated with it all 😳
Can't imagine living in this concrete world, just saying!🙈 Sure great to travel thru it though 😎

Day 31

The power finally came on at 6:00 last night, just in time to heat up dinner and warm the cabin.

AT 6:30 this morning we left A.C. and have been underway for an 11/2 hours.  It's a mere  47º clear and sunny🌞 Winds coming off the shore WNW 9 - 13 mph. Not ideal but good enough, as it is choppy with swells 3-4 feet.   There are quit a few other boats exiting today too.  Stella is not quite  use to this sudden chilly weather, she is shivering; have her wrapped up in a blanket, snuggled up next to me.🐶

We hope to make it to Sandy Hook NJ before night fall!  90 miles!   On the way down we had to stay in SH (not Salthill) at Atlantic Highlands Marina for a week due to weather, of course.  It's where we could walk into town and  do laundry and also where we saw Bohemian Rhapsody in their little movie theater  Great movie!!
Had a great time there but hoping the weather cooperates so we don't have to stay there but one night!!🙏

At 11:30 we have slowed down to do some trolling🎣🐟🐠 We are making great time and thinking we will be at our destination by 4.
Even though it is chilly, the sun is shining and the ocean is calmer than before.   I'm at the helm today,  Kenny is fishing; adding lines and setting bait.
Gorgeous day, as my late brother 😢would say: "It's a crispy cod day" Not sure where that expression came from.

As mentioned earlier, we have eaten a lot of fish on this journey and most recently we bought wild caught  frozen fish at the Farmer's Market in St. Augustine; Mahi, Large Pink Shrimp, Flounder and Parrot Fish.  The Pink shrimp were quite different than regular ones, very tasty and meaty. The Parrot fish(had never heard of) was good too!
🐟Mahi tonight unless we catch something better today🐋

At 4:45 we can see the NYC skyline in the distance. In about an hour we will be tucked in Atlantic Highland Municipal Marina, Sandy Hook, NJ.  For the last fews hours we have had following seas but very rolly polly🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊
Great travel day though, just ready to get there already😄

At 7:00 we arrived, docked, walked Stella, making dinner, Mahi, cause we didn't catch a thing. We are both exhausted after 12 hours on the water.
Oh, and it's fairly warm here! 😎

Tomorrow we are jumping on the Long Island Sound after we fuel up.
Until then, goodnight 💤😍😎

Tuesday, May 14, 2019

Day 30

We have been at this for a month but it doesn't seem like it. Everyday is a new challenge; we woke to no power this day and it was 49º out. BURRRRRRRR  Marina is working on the docks so they cut the power off
We just naturally made the best of it and in this case we went to the Casino at 9am.
It is now 4:00 and we are back on the boat, still no power and broke
Had lots of fun  and went through cash like water, Poof, gone!

Looks like tomorrow will be our exit. It's not a great forecast but hopefully doable.

Thanks for following along, it's comforting to know we are not alone😍

Monday, May 13, 2019

Day 29

I was hoping we would be home by now, but our travels are based on wind, waves etc. and they are not cooperating at all! It is cold, rainy and blustery outside. We are stuck here for another day or so????? Wind 27/31mph ENE, 50º and we have the heat on. Next few days don't look any better😟🙀
And so we wait!
Don't tell anyone 😂 but we both stayed in our pj's all day and  couch potatoes.
The warnings are still in effect for tomorrow.
Hoping Wednesday will be our exit day. Keep fingers crossed🤞🤞

Sunday, May 12, 2019

Day 28

Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there!

Not much to report today, as we are securely docked at the Golden Nugget Marina and not going anywhere. It's a chilly 52º,
winds ENE 36/46 mph 🙀 waves 6 to 10 feet; can't even get off the boat!!  Poor Stella has her legs crossed.

Spent the day relaxing and watching TV and then late afternoon we weathered the blustery weather and went to Casino.   It was fun, but what a way to blow money.  I just can't understand how the
Craps Table works but Kenny does and he won some. Me? I blew my money on the machines! It was fun though and drinks were free while playing. It is 11:00 and we are back o0n the boat and so done!
Good night all

Saturday, May 11, 2019

Day 27

Good bye Ocean City!🏖
We are out of here, at 7:30am. Hoping to go 80+ miles today as this is our only window of weather. For the next few days there are small craft advisories which means we will be staying a while at our next location;  New Jersey here we come!

It is currently 69º mostly cloudy⛅ wind WNW 5mph with gust of 8mph🎐 The rain is coming!⛈

The channel we are exiting in is so narrow, sandbars everywhere. I'm holding my breath until we are in the ocean. 🌊🌊🌊

Last night a SEA-Do was marooned on a sandbar with just inches of water. Took them an hour to  get off and running again. 🙀🙏
🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊 At 5:00 we arrived at the Golden Nugget Marina after a 10 hour rocky ride up the Atlantic.  A very cloudy day but no rain...yet!
We will be here a few days as the weather looks grim for the next few.  It's chilly here in Atlantic City, NJ
       Put your makeup on🎵
🎵Fix your hair up pretty
And meet me tonight🎵
🎵In Atlantic City

We are safely hunkered at the dock, buttoned up and ready for the weather.
Happy Birthday Eileen!💜🎂⚓

Days 25&26

It is Friday and we just got back from cousins Cindy and Bob's home for the night. Great to visit with them and to spend the night on the hard. We have only done that 3 or 4 times since last May. Stella loved sniffing around their yard and doing her thing,🐕🐶 off leash.

Yesterday we visited with cousin Skip and Sharon and spent the day reminiscing.
Had lots of laughs, great eats with all, and hangovers to boot.🍺🍹🍸🍷🍸🍹🍺

Today we are just hanging, getting ready for our exodus tomorrow morn, early, weather permitting⛅🤞

Wednesday, May 8, 2019

Day 24

Well, it looks like we will be in Ocean City for a few days, as the waves and swells are too big for us to travel in. Not a bad place to be though, but we are anxious to get home.
It is a sunny day with highs at 70º winds N.
Going to walk to the boardwalk today

At 6:30 we are back on the boat after walking the boardwalk, shared some  Trasher Fries and Doughrollers slice of pizza. 🍕🍕😋

Had Peggy and company on the boat and are now done for the day!
As the day progressed it became very chilly.

Looking forward to visiting with Skip and Sharron tomorrow!

Until tomorrow😍

Day 23

🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊

8:00AM we were underway, headed to Ocean City.
The ocean is its rocky self;  like heavy turbulence on a plane.

It is now 1:00 and we can see the OC skyline  a few miles away. There has been a nip in the air all day with endless sun,🌞 61º, Wind from the S at 12mph. It's pushing us along this rollercoaster of a ride. 🎢🎢🎢

Lots of childhood memories here for Kenny as well as our kids. We have had some interesting times in OC over the years.🙈😂🏖🏖🐴🐴🦵🍺👮🎣🚓

As many times we have been here we have never entered OC by water. This was our view as we were coming in to the channel

Ocean City here we come

The Marina we are in was difficult to navigate to, but we are here. It is situated near the boardwalk and we are in a very lively spot
Kenny's sister Peggy and friends greeted us as we came in, along with Kenny's cousins, Bob and Cindy
Views from our slip. Fish Tails Bar was packed! Fun place.
Still a nip in the air, sweater weather.
Spent the afternoon visiting with Bob and Cindy topside.  Great spending time with them, it's been a while.👍😍😎

Tomorrow we are meeting Peggy and company on the boardwalk and getting Thrasher Fries with vinegar for old time sake🍟🐷

At 7;30 we are both spent, done for the day.
Hot shower then 💤💤💤💤💤💤💤😘

Monday, May 6, 2019

Day 22

We  are staying put today, here at the Municipal Dock in Chincoteague, Va.  There is  a small craft advisory due to winds and waves.
Not a bad place to be, it's  free hook up 🔌 and its situated downtown. Lots of little shops and restaurants to walk to. Free WiFi too!
Did a little grocery shopping and saw this:

Have not had Cheerwine for a while. It's soda that tastes kind of like Dr. Pepper, but not.   Grew up drinking this! 😋
A view from topside

This afternoon one the the many geese that live here, was fouled  in fishing line.😢

Kenny yelled for me to help, and bring a knife.

He grabbed the line from the water and carefully pulled the goose to us. He grabbed its neck and removed the line that was wrapped around its wing as the poor thing flailed all around.  I cut, he pulled!

Kenny placed the freed goose on a  piling

and there it sat for about 10 minutes, preening.
Walked to a beach like restaurant with a

Tiki Bar 🌴🏖
                                             Kenny looking badass
Fun!  We are out in the ocean in the AM to get to Ocean City.
TTYL 😍
Go BRUINS🏒🏒🏒

Sunday, May 5, 2019

Day 21

Pulled anchor at 6 AM and are now bobbing in the ocean heading to OC!  71º in Kiptopke, Va with wind SE 3 to 5 mph
This is what our GPS looks like now:
We are the tiny black boat under the crosshair🙈
Weather gets messy this afternoon so we need to be tucked in by then. Now at 80 miles from Ocean City we are looking at a bale out plan; maybe Chincoteague, Va.
squirrel : this is a pic of an V-22 Osprey (part helicopter part plane)
Never get tired of seeing these wiz by
          So daunting looking!!!

Nine hours later, after a long, long bumpy ride in the ocean we are docked at a free public dock in Chincoteague, right downtown.🙏

It rained pretty much all day and we were 4 miles out. You can see the rain on the radar:
After about 15 minutes to dock this beast, as forceful  tides were against us and docking by ourselves, we are just happy to be in calm waters and still. Stella couldn't wait for a walk in the park 💩💩💩

We noticed right away how deserted the shorelines and marinas are around here;  it certainly is not boating season yet.  Still warm and muggy though. We are the only ones here!!😎

It's 65º, overcast, with 90% precipitation a coming.

Ocean City here we come!🏖🦀🍟 TOMORROW! 🤞

Saturday, May 4, 2019

Day 20

May the 4th be with you!

At 6:30 pm we are anchored off the southeast shore of Fishermen's Island, right next to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.  There are dolphins everywhere and even saw a pelican here. 🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬

We left Coinjock around 8am and traveled the next leg of our trip.  Skies were overcast, 68º, winds SE 3-5 mph and we were riding into the current for most of the day.
Big surprise as we were traveling, our neighbors from Mariner Cay Marina in Florida went by us in the opposite direction. They laid on the horn and at first we didn't know who they were. They had just bought and picked up their new boat in Delaware and were headed back to Florida. So excited to see them, we both turned our boats around to say hi and admire their new one. Safe travels Mike and Missy 👊💞Come visit us in Maine

Some sites from the shipyard in Norfolk, Va

Overwhelming sights to see again!
We went under a plethora of bridges, some open on demand, some every hour and a few every 1/2 hour. 🌉 We ended up converging with many boats in a traffic jam waiting and timing the openings.
We all are entering the only lock we had to go through. The Great Bridge Lock on the southern branch
of the Elizabeth River

This was a different way from coming down.
We went through the Dismal Swamp and went through the Chesapeake to get to Taylors Island, where Kenny's family live and visited them. So glad we did that!

It was a long day, 9.5 hours, 80 miles and we are out of pages in the Flipbook of the ICW that went from Miami to Norfolk.

Tomorrow we are ocean bound, bright and early, as we head to Ocean City, MD, 95 miles/ 83 nautical. This will be the longest distance outside in our trek home.  10 hour day!

It's 8:00 and we are moving;  just too rolly at this location. We have to find our own anchorages now because we are off the charts.🤞

Until tomorrow

Friday, May 3, 2019

Day 19

Still at Coinjock Marina, all day and leaving tomorrow after we fuel up.
Generator is fixed, the boat is sparkling clean inside and out, all laundry is done and we are good to go.
This is a very busy marina with all sorts of cliental; it's the only gig in town. Great bar and restaurant with excellent food!!

We have met so many people from all walks of life; it's really awesome and educational. We look forward to coming back here one day.
The WiFi stinks though; have to use my Hotspot for everything😡

TTYL😍

Thursday, May 2, 2019

Day 18

6:30 AM and we are underway through the dreaded Alligator Pungo Canal.  🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

The generator 'bit the shed' again last night so we had no power. Had all the windows open and thankfully a cool breeze kicked up in the evening. Had to get creative to make coffee this morn☕

In Beaufort, NC it is 65º with high of 83º,  precip. 0%
wind SW 7mph, ⛅

We have 63 miles to go today to get to Coinjock Marina; NC sure has a long coast as we have been in it forever, it seems!🤯

The wind controls the current here and it's running behind us with the tide coming in. This is a good thing, especially in THIS canal. The same one we hit an underwater stump, which took out one propeller, which waylaid us for a week!!!🙈

At 3:30 and after 8 hours of grueling stump and log watching and avoiding, we are at our destination, safe and sound and exhausted.

Some peeps still waving the Confederate Flag🚩

First order of business was getting Stella off the boat, then laundry.
We are in Coinjock Marina, NC, known for their restaurant  that serves to die for prime rib. I wrote about this earlier and was expecting a posh marina after all the hoop-la we have heard about this place;  wrong! It's pretty dumpy, one single-file of boats, one long dock, with restaurant.  Jury is out!  I'll report back later. It is very hot here too.
A generator guy  is here, once again!  Taking a part out to get fixed. Ugh!
Very curious about the name Coinjock, which is the town too; it's an Indian name for Mulberry bush. Go figure🌳 Population: 350

At 8:30 we are back from dinner and I have to say it was unbelievable!  Best prime rib I have ever had; now we know why we heard about this place so many times!  Never judge a book by its cover cause the food here was well worth the travel on the 90' wide canal called the Carolina Cut.  Beats traveling the Dismal Swamp again!

Wednesday, May 1, 2019

Day 17

Happy May Day!🌹🌸🌷🌺
This day was always celebrated at my high school in NC with MayPole dances and all kinds of festivities.💃

Today is Wednesday, the 1st and we were woken early by large waves rocking us. Fishermen start their day very early, in the dark.
So we up and left, in the dark.
It is now 9:30 and we have been traveling for 4 hours, making lots of headway home. Staying mostly on the ICW until Jersey then we have to travel in the ocean.
By the way it is hot and steamy with mosquitoes, biting flies and such everywhere on the boat 🐛🐝🐜  Ironicly,  the area we were just  in  called Coole Breeze something???😂

High today is 88º, mostly sunny, winds SW 8 mph. We want to be at  marina in Coin Jock, NC. tomorrow.  Have been hearing a lot about it, including their to-die-for prime rib restaurant.  Love being on the hook⚓ every night, but  when we do stay at a marina, we like to find one with lots of amenities.  Laundry, restaurant, fuel, ice, groceries etc.

4:40 We are now anchored at the entrance of the Alligator Pungo Canal.
Traveled about 10 hrs, 80 miles. The weather continued to be hot and buggy but soon changed to beautiful and breezy for the last portion of the day. 🙏

Kenny flagged down another crabber this AM and bought 2 dozen more crabs. $20 for 24 this time.. Great deal. He already steamed them while we were underway on propane burner, outside in the stern. Lat night we picked the dozen for crab cakes tonight.
A lot more picking tonight, I guess🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀
Kenny showing off his big one🦀
Fresh caught

Steamed, red, dead😖

The Alligator Pungo canal was what we wanted to avoid but it looks like we have no choice in the matter. Just have to stay on that magenta line and hope for the best; already experienced the worst last time🙈

Along the way we have been seeing very comical boat names, such as Bow Movement, Grateful Head, and here's a few more:
Might have to enlarge to read!

Gone fishing 🎣

Tuesday, April 30, 2019

Day 16

On this last day of April we are socked in with fog! 🌁 Anchored just off the ICW waiting for it to lift. It is 7:30AM, 62º
winds are calm WNW 5mph. Forecast calls for sunny skies with high of 78º; in Wilmington, NC And we wait🙇
Hoping to go 65 miles today, which will put us close to New Bern. Use to go to camp near New Bern, in Arapahoe called Camp Seafare; a month every summer 🚤🚲⛳⛵🚣⛺😎

Finally the fog lifted and at 9:50 we were back on the ICW.

Kenny stopped a crabber who was crabbing 😂and  bought a dozen 🦀right off the boat.  Steamed crabs tonight! Maybe crab cakes too!
🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀

We stopped for  fuel, filled up water tanks, got ice and let Stella take care of her needs⛽🚰💩 then on our way again!

We passed Camp Lejeune and Kenny took this pic of a missile launcher, and an old tank situated on the banks of the ICW.

At 4:30 we are safely anchored near Morehead City, NC. 😎

Every night we fish and tonight Kenny caught 2 sand sharks, big ones, OMG! They do have teeth!🦈 quick release, one fell in boat.  😱

Happy last day of April! ☔
See you in May!🌸🌷🌹🌼🌺
