December 1, Day 14

Happy December 1st
We woke up to a beautiful, sunshiny morning and hit the water. Not sure where we are landing today, going to try to make C & D Canal!
Inasmuch as our marina was at a casino, we went. I mean why not? LOL Had a couple cocktails, played a few machines and had a blast. It was nice not to be sleeping by 7 !!
Came out $118 on top.πŸ’° Met some other boaters, all guys, and chatted with them on the dock. Finally turned in around 11πŸ™€
Goodbye Atlantic City

We have been traveling since 8am and it is now 9:30.  Wind is out of the north, 2-5 mph, and 50ΒΊ. Waves are 1-2 feet.
Truly 'fair winds and following seas' today. Traveling at 10 knots.

It is noon and we just entered the Cape May inlet which is very narrow, relatively speaking, and calm once inside. It becomes the Cape May Canal which will take us to the Delaware River.  Eventually, we want to be on the Chesapeake in a couple of days. Because it is so early we've decided to keep going; where? I don't know! Don't want to stop until we have to. Only problem that presents is finding an open marina; Living life on the edge hahahaha!!!!!
It continues to be very warm in the cabin from sunshine only.🌞
Stella fell asleep while readingπŸ’•
Now that we are in a canal we have to be even more vigilant at the helm. We take turns, but now that we are in the canal Kenny has taken over.

Stay Tuned

It is 4:00 and we are in a bind, kinda.. Too  far from our destination at this point, getting dark, it's foggy, rainy and I'm a tad nervous.  Our Chart Plotter tells us lots, like depth of water, locations, where we are in the water, where buoys are, other boats or obstacles ...

After making some calls we are now headed to a marina somewhat off our beaten path. It's not exactly on the GPS either. We have engines at idle and trying to figure it out.

It's a shallow entrance with no room to move, about 6' of water πŸ™€
I was just directed to the stern to see if we are kicking up mud, YIKES,  πŸ™  We are now putt, putting along in the fog and drizzle looking for the place.

This is a shot of  app. called Navionics.  We are the red triangle and red path and we just got into deeper water, but not much. Enlarge  it to see the depth on either side. Don't quite understand how navigating was done way back when.✨
The blue is Cohansey River?

This is what we just snaked through to get to the only Marina around these parts; Redneck yacht club right here. We just docked. No electricity and we are in the middle of the sticks in Delaware.
Kenny is walking Stella because I'm not.  All good though because we have a generator. This is better than anchoring out in the Delaware River!!! Glad we are somewhere connected to land, that's for sure!😍
