Day Seventeen

It was so nice to get off the boat for the night, even though it felt like we were still moving most the night.  Not sure if that's a form of vertigo? 👂
Cousins Skip and Sharon were wonderful hosts and we enjoyed catching up.
Feeling refreshed and glad to be back on Serenity. It's 11:30 and we are underway again, very late. Leaving the marina and going under the Kent Narrow's Bridge.
Kenny says to me as we approach the bridge, "Think we will fit under it?" I said back, " How tall are we with all our antennas up?"
20' and the bridge clears 18?
Had to radio the bridge master! It's so cool to watch traffic stop for little ol' us and see the bridge go up!!

Kent Narrows Bridge

We are headed to the Taylor's Island which is 32 miles away. Kenny's mom, sister, brother  and nephews live there.
Looking forward to visiting !.Tillie makes the best crab fluffs, and crab cakes; hope they are in her cast iron skillet when we arrive. 🙏

We are now in Prospect Bay, then Eastern Bay, keeping the mighty Chesapeake on our starboard, because of wind and waves. Both of these Tributaries feed into the Chesapeake. We have an 18mph wind blowing from the NNE, gusting to 30, which is blowing us from behind. LOL🌬

It's 3:00 and the ride so far has been pretty bumpy. Now we truly have following seas taking us in to TI. Following seas on a boat feels like being on a boogie board riding the waves into shore. Bow goes up and rides the wave and then comes down to do it again and again .  🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊 So much fun!!🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊

We landed at Taylor's Island. I wouldn't call this a marina by any stretch, but we do have electricity.  It is 4:00 and we will be visiting family for the evening.  💕
