Not a great night though; as I was up listening to 3' waves crash into our chines, making sledgehammer-like sounds on the hull. Even though we were anchored, the boat was rocking and rolling, which usually puts you to sleep. Plus, sinus pressureπUGH!
There are so many pelicans out fishing this morning. They are amazing as they patiently wait above and then dive straight down, kamikaze style, into the water and out to swallow their breakfast.
As we were traveling, 2 dolphins joined us on our portside, and stayed right beside the moving boat, playing, jumping and showing their pink bellies! It was like they were performing for us for about 5 minutes. I hope I can get the video of them to work. Please watchπ¬π¬
We even saw our first Manatee with her baby, frolicking in our pathway, as we had to slow down and move to avoid a collision. We also warned other boats of her location.
The day was beautiful, even a little chilly in the afternoon.
Some homes we passed along the wayπ
At 3:00 we arrived at Stuart!
We had our very own Welcome Committee on the way in!
Thank you Bob and Janet for an unbelievable welcome.
Bob and Janet are our slip neighbors on D dock in Portland and great friends.
They stopped at 2 places to wave and take pictures
This is the fruit and wine filled Welcome Basket, Bob and Janet brought for us at the Marina in Stuart. Big huge THANK YOU to both of them for making our arrival so special and memorable!
Plus, so good to see their smiling Maine faces! We visited for a while after we got in our spot and now we are both exhausted and going to chill for the evening. Have already met some of our neighbors here.
Also, Thank you to Warren and Thasia for finding a vacancy at their marina. Happy Days!πΊ
Stay Tuned for our trip to Bahamas in Marchπ

ReplyDeleteSorry I was so late to catch up on the reading, Ha! Amazing how keeping up with two little ones takes all our time. Just was sledding in the backyard with the kids and had to pull the sled uphill with them in it for the last one. There's my leg workout for the day! Can't wait to read more blogs from you guys!
